The Refining Process

    After many conversations with my classmates, and very little real work done, I've gained lots of ideas, possibilities, and thoughts. One thing that was repeatedly brought up in my conversations was some ideas for what kind of artifact or thing I could make as something of a final product for my project. My project still plans on being mostly research, but being able to deliver a product based off my research would be really amazing, and probably make it more fun for me too. A couple of ideas were thrown around but making a website seemed the most reasonable. Another one that I really want to do still, even though I'm not sure how it will work out is to spend a lot of time working on the design of my blog, turning my log itself into a presentable artifact for my final project. Being able to compile what I learn from my research into a deliverable would be sweet, but I don't really know how much time that will take so my plan could be changing as we go.
    I've really begun to grasp my idea, world building and storytelling, in our everyday digital tools. Thanks to the help of my classmates I've been able to focus and define my goals and plan a bit more and put a finger on what I'm looking for. 

The Plan

Data gathering

Phase 1

For the first steps of my project I'm going to start gathering data. This is going to be some self led research and discovery. I'm going to be looking into programs and tools on the internet that I can use as good examples or case studies. I want to spend some time looking into these programs and looking for what works, what's unique, what is interesting. 

I also want to spend some time looking at fiction stories from skilled authors to look at what things they do to enhance world building, story telling, and relatability. I'm going to try my best to translate those things to digital design aspects. 

Phase 2

Phase 2 of data gather is taking all of the data that I have gathered and looked at and start to bring them to people and ask questions based off what I found. I would try to ask as many people as I can a set of questions that I develop based off my work in phase 1

Data Processing

This section of my work is going to involve taking a look at all the data I've gathered and doing something with it. I want to find results, find significant points, and find recurring trends and make statements based on them. This is going to be the part of the project where I transfer everything I've been learning and talking with people about into concrete ideas and values. 

Applying My Data (making deliverables)

This is going to be when I take what I've learned from processing my data and actually trying to apply it to a digital tool. From what I've talked about with my peers I think a website is going to be the best option. For times sake I'm most likely going to use a website building tool, ideally one with AI integrated to help me speed this process up so I can build a reasonable product. 

The Unknowns

I'm still a little unsure of what I want to do with my blog. I want to start revamping the design soon, that's for sure but I don't know how far I am going to go. I am unfamiliar with blogger's tools so I'm just going to allot myself some time and play with it. If it looks to be something promising then I will spend some more time throughout the semester developing it. I also still have no idea what I'm going to do with my interviews. Honestly I'd rather just not. :(

  I copy and pasted this photo from google images, boooooo The Proposal The Thought Process I love literature. It's awesome. I think that if everyone took the time to read and consume quality literature it would have major impact on the current state of our world. There is some kind of power intrinsic to literature that allows the author to connect with and communicate with the reader on a very very human level. Through their works they are able to convey meaning and value to the consumers of their creations possibly effecting, challenging, influencing, and inspiring those people. That being said, literature doesn't actually do anything.... At least not from a technical stand point. I spent the preceding class to this diving into the power of words, but when we look at literature through a more literal and technical lens it doesn't provide any function. My favorite Brandon Sanderson book can't process a spreadsheet, or create a project, or compute mathematical equations...

  THE FINAL CLASS Over the course of the semester, during my research, I have discovered many really cool websites that are doing wonderful, creative, and innovative things with their designs!! I have really enjoyed finding these websites and have been really really impressed by quite a few. I want to include a few examples of my favorites so that I can share these cool things with you guys!! Examples Shader.se igloo.inc The Line Studio Ponpon Mania patrickfoxy These websites use many cool tools to set themselves apart, making each one of them unique, original, and exciting, and I can't wait to talk about them. Some really cool tools include paralax scrolling, 3d rendering in web, well animated transition scenes, web reactivity, and many more!
