EXAMPLES FOR FINAL CLASS

Image
THE FINAL CLASS Over the course of the semester, during my research, I have discovered many really cool websites that are doing wonderful, creative, and innovative things with their designs!! I have really enjoyed finding these websites and have been really really impressed by quite a few. I want to include a few examples of my favorites so that I can share these cool things with you guys!! Examples Shader.se igloo.inc The Line Studio Ponpon Mania patrickfoxy These websites use many cool tools to set themselves apart, making each one of them unique, original, and exciting, and I can't wait to talk about them. Some really cool tools include paralax scrolling, 3d rendering in web, well animated transition scenes, web reactivity, and many more!

Jessica Clements Interview!

Image
This is a dragon, idk y  Jessica Clements Interview First questions I lead with a question that I had already introduced to Dr. Clements in one of my classes when she visited the class. Are websites becoming monomodal? No. Monomodal is not the right word. Websites by virtue tend to include lots of different modalities, sound, text, images etc. So I was using the wrong word. But she said YES websites do seem to be becoming homogenous. Web aesthetics ARE flattening.  We discussed this for a bit. Why are websites becoming so homogenous and how. The classic usability and reliability is what we decided upon. People don't want to have to relearn how to use a new website or tool every time they try something new. It's already hard enough. If they all follow similar archetypes it becomes much simpler for the users to accept new artifacts. Also, the sterile classic design is efficient. Sidebars, drop boxes, text boxes, common icons, etc. They all work and do their job well and are easy...

Bruno Simon Interview!

Image
I Interviewed Bruno Simon! (He's French) Bruno's background Bruno Simon is a creative software developer that lives in France. He is very well known for his work with Three.js, a library that takes abstracts the logic of WebGL (which is very low level), making it easier and more comprehensive to work with. He uses these tools to create 3D generation within websites. He has worked on creative websites for a long time, inspired by his love for video games, and now teaches Three.js as well as continuing to work on projects. You can check out his really cool portfolio at bruno-simon.com. Start of the Interview Tools Bruno started by telling me a little bit about how he makes these projects. What tools he uses, other people are using, and what is up and coming. He talked a lot about three.js, of course, but also how he finds Blender being very useful for his designs. He also mentioned an upcoming and exciting new tech, html-in-canvas. He says that when 3D rendering a website, the ...

THE REFINED PROPOSAL (Totally not late)

Image
The Refined Proposal The Refining Process      After many conversations with my classmates, and very little real work done, I've gained lots of ideas, possibilities, and thoughts. One thing that was repeatedly brought up in my conversations was some ideas for what kind of artifact or thing I could make as something of a final product for my project. My project still plans on being mostly research, but being able to deliver a product based off my research would be really amazing, and probably make it more fun for me too. A couple of ideas were thrown around but making a website seemed the most reasonable. Another one that I really want to do still, even though I'm not sure how it will work out is to spend a lot of time working on the design of my blog, turning my log itself into a presentable artifact for my final project. Being able to compile what I learn from my research into a deliverable would be sweet, but I don't really know how much time that will take so my ...

THE PROPOSAL

Image
I copy and pasted this photo from google images, boooooo The Proposal The Thought Process I love literature. It's awesome. I think that if everyone took the time to read and consume quality literature it would have major impact on the current state of our world. There is some kind of power intrinsic to literature that allows the author to connect with and communicate with the reader on a very very human level. Through their works they are able to convey meaning and value to the consumers of their creations possibly effecting, challenging, influencing, and inspiring those people. That being said, literature doesn't actually do anything.... At least not from a technical stand point. I spent the preceding class to this diving into the power of words, but when we look at literature through a more literal and technical lens it doesn't provide any function. My favorite Brandon Sanderson book can't process a spreadsheet, or create a project, or compute mathematical equations...
